| The gamma-ray burst (GRB) model for high-energy cosmic ray
production will be reviewed, with emphasis on the implications
of recent cosmic-ray and GRB afterglow observations.
Predictions of the model, that can be tested with planned
high energy cosmic ray and neutrino detectors, will be
discussed.
